From start to finish, everything was fantastic. We got there a little before our reservation & sat at the bar for a drink - A+ bartenders, A+ cocktails. Our server was just really fun & clearly knew the menu inside & out. Food & desserts were phenomenal - I can't recommend the bread service enough!

Charleston is a beautiful city and we were excited to visit for the second time. We were delighted to have dinner here, the restaurant is tastefully decorated with two main areas: a cozy back room and a front double room featuring lovely live music. The food was delicious, even though we ended up ordering a bit too much!
The best meal of my life! My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary dinner here & the food, service & atmosphere were outstanding! We felt so catered to & in every interaction we had with the hosts & wait staff, people congratulated us on our anniversary & were very welcoming to us. The food was incredible! The sashimi was outstanding - melt in your mouth tuna & the oysters with the melon mignonette were out of this world. I wanted a dirty Gin martini but wanted to try a new gin. They recommended an excellent gin to try which paired really well with the olives. We also got the ssam whole fish & ribeye. Both were incredible! Finished with macarons & coffee… also so good! Highly recommend including this on your next trip to Chucktown. Did not disappoint!!

On our recent first trip to Charleston, we decided to eat at The Establishment, based on good reviews across various food critiquing sites. We were not disappointed! The lovely and relaxed atmosphere, the friendly and professional staff, and the exquisite food made it a memorable meal. My husband ordered the gnudi and the moqueca de peixe, two dishes that were new to him, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the buratta with strawberries (delicious!), and a perfectly prepared pork dish. Our waiter, Adam, made some great suggestions, which also enhanced our dining experience. When I return to Charleston, I will return to The Establishment. I highly recommend this restaurant...and don't forget to order dessert!
Our evening at The Establishment was definitely our top dining experience ever! The food was superb. Don’t sleep on the Gnudie!! Delicious!! The service was excellent. The overall interior vibe was beautiful and the jazz trio was a perfect accompaniment to the evening. We were seated only two tables away from them and I was nervous it would be too loud and damper our night but the sound level was perfect! We ended the evening with a short chat with the charming General Manager Shane, when he stopped by to inquire about our evening. That is always a nice personal touch in our opinions. They made this birthday girl feel special from start to finish. We can’t recommend The Establishment enough for a very memorable evening out!!
If butter were a personality trait, this place would be unbearable in the best way. The striped bass was swimming in luxury. Could we get a more French presentation? Probably not unless someone starts speaking in full Parisian accents tableside. The gnudi has been a consistent menu item and it is unhinged. Its butter. It’s soft, rich, and dangerously addictive, like, why is this not being shipped nationwide? Box it up, slap a label on it, and ruin all other pasta experiences forever. Indulgent and I love it.
Our favorite place during our short visit. We popped in and scored a place at the bar. Zach, our bartender, was attentive, offered amazing suggestions, and made us feel welcome. We're still thinking about the gnudi and " very real" butter! I would love to go back for a full dining experience. Yum!
We celebrated our anniversary here on April 7th and had an absolutely wonderful evening! The service was both friendly and professional — exactly what you want for a special occasion. The food was impressive across the board. The ribeye, flounder, gnudi, and chocolate mousse were all 5/5s. The striped bass, lettuces, and lemon phyllo cake were also solid with a 4/5. And to top it all off, the kitchen sent out a complimentary housemade vanilla bean ice cream with a candle to celebrate our anniversary, which was a lovely touch. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish. Highly recommend for a special night out!
